When you are in the process of trying to buy a home and get approved for a mortgage, you need to be very careful about doing anything that could affect your credit score.

This means issues such as accruing more debt (new furniture) or neglecting to pay your current mortgage because hey, you’re moving out of that house anyway, right?  Wrong.
