What NOT to Do When You’ve Applied for a Loan

Filed under: Home Buying Tips, Qualifying for a Mortgage Loan

So you’re ready to buy a home, you’ve found the perfect property, you’ve gotten pre-approved with a lender and the process is underway…  Fantastic!

Now, here’s a list of things you should NOT do while that transaction is in escrow.  In fact, you should avoid these things at all costs:

  1. Do NOT do anything that could negatively affect your credit.
  2. Do NOT quit your job.
  3. Do NOT make any large deposits into your bank account.

If any of these 3 things are unavoidable, you absolutely should discuss them with your lender before you take any action.  Make sure you are not jeopardizing your deal!
