The Election is Over!!! Now What?

Are you feeling relieved now that the election is over? Regardless of politic opinions, many people felt that this election season was intense. It is exciting to know that we don’t have to see any ads about a politician who is most likely bending the truth a bit in the ads.

The interesting thing is that I’ve heard many people over the past five or six months say that they are waiting to see what happens with the election and the economic changes after the results come through. These questions play into the concept of market timing that everyone is trying to figure out. As I’ve said in the past, I’m not a believer that anyone will time the market intentionally and be successful with their efforts.

Certainly, people benefit from the ups and downs in the real estate market. But the real strategy lies in the long-game. For the most part, people just get the timing that they get based on when they need to move for career or family situations.

Post-Election Thoughts

Here we are now that the election is over. It’s too early to say that we know what will happen now. But the initial response this morning shows that equities are up. From a mortgage perspective, it’s good to see that the bond markets are up as well.

Who knows what tomorrow brings. But I like that the investors responded well to the election results. So, it feels like good news. We’ll see what happens with time.  I do not doubt that we’ll continue to feel upward pressure with the rates since that’s how things seem to be going in the near future.

If you’ve been sitting on the fence waiting to happen, it seems like a reasonable time to buy since the investors had a good response. What are your thoughts? Like, share, and comment below! And don’t hesitate to reach out if you would like to discuss mortgage options with me. I’m here to help!
